Carcassonne Plage: Also known as Lac de Cavayere. Its off junction 24 of the A61 (10 minutes south) and about 45 mins from Pradines. www.parcaquaviva.com
Parc Acrobatique: Trapeezing across lakes and climbing through the trees. Family safe, great fun. At Carcassonne Plage (45 mins by car). So much fun and completely safe for the family. The highlight is the zip-wire across the lake. Remember to take your trainers!
Narbonne Plage: Long wide soft sands. (35-40 mins by car)
Carcassonne: The second most visited city in France (after Paris)! Magnificent walled Medieval city.
Collioure: Lovely picturesque seaside town
Abbaye de Fontfroide and walk up to the Cross: Spectacular views of the local area
Local Walk up the Roquelongue: The 'long rock' in Saint Andre. The walk starts at Montserat just 5 mins away.
Day trip to Spain! It's only an hour to the border. Visit Figueres (Dali Museum and Castle) and the picturesque seaside town of Cadaques).
Perpignan: Great shops and cafes in a very picturesque city on a canal.
Pezenas : Picture perfect old town, ideal for browsing in quaint shops. Home of Moliere. (45-50 mins by car)
Pont du Diablo: Over 1 hour away but well worth it. You can do Saint Guilhem le Desert on the same day (see below).

Narbonne is the nearest large town - visit the Sunday market plus the food market at Les Halles
Beziers - 45 mins away - visit the Old Bridge (Pont Vieux), Plateau des Poetes (park), Allees Paul Riquet (wide Boulevard) and the old streets up to the Cathedral. Bricante on a Tuesday morning.
Sete itself is stunning but if you can time it with some water-jousting, even better
